Smart Water: Saving in the Vineyard… and at Home in 7 Days
Lessons from the Field
In the vineyard, water is gold: use it wisely. The same rules apply at home: measure, reduce, and apply when needed.
Three Simple Steps
1. Flow Reducer. It’s inexpensive, installs in a minute, and reduces the flow rate from the faucet. Do a 10-second test with a cup before and after installation: you’ll see the difference… and you’ll pay less.
2. Gentle watering. Evening or early morning, not on the leaves, but better at the base of the plant. Covering the soil with leaves/bark (mulch) maintains moisture.
3. Smart reuse. Vegetable rinsing water is great for balcony plants.
The 7-Day Challenge
Choose one of these actions and do it for a week:
* Install a faucet reducer or shorten your shower by 60 seconds;
* Water only after sunset;
* Reuse vegetable rinsing water.
Write your choice on a piece of paper, stick it to the fridge, and take a photo on day 1 and day 7. Small effort, big impact.
