Agritainment: Making the Visit Last Even After You Return Home
Why Agritainment Works
A great visit ends when you return home. An agritainment experience, on the other hand, continues: it remains in the form of memories, recipes, reminders, and small gestures that improve our routines. The idea is simple: emotion + flavor + a clear message. When the emotion is positive, we’re more likely to remember and change behavior.
From “How wonderful!” to “I’ll do it too”
Here are three concrete levers to make the visit a habit:
1. Visual reminders. A reusable bread bag hanging in the kitchen, a glass jar for bulk shopping, a magnet with three words: local–seasonal–no waste. The eye sees, the hand does.
2. Small rewards. A weekly checklist: “I bought local one more time.” The satisfaction of marking progress is a reward that motivates.
3. Public commitment. Saying it out loud helps you stick to it: “Every Wednesday I buy local fruit.” Sharing the resolution makes it easier to stick to it.
What to take home (besides memories)
- A “bridge” recipe learned at the company (yogurt sauce, quick bread, local herbal tea).
- A reminder object (printed placemat, jar with reusable label, bag).
- A 7-day challenge: smart water, zero waste in the kitchen, weekly local shopping.
How we do it in practice
During our meetings, we offer 10-minute micro-demos, with a light-hearted tone: you smile, taste, and take home a simple task. For example: strain yogurt to make a spread and use the whey in a recipe. The result? Less waste, more flavor.
